Make A Statement

Let’s talk about making a statement, more specifically with your wardrobe. We always talk about how important basics are to a closet, but fun pieces are in my book equally important. Why blend in when you can stand out? Statement tops are a fun way to incorporate trends and to show your personality. Freshen up your seasonal style by layering in some ruffles, bold colors and asymmetrical sleeves.

Style tips to pull off a statement top:

Keep everything else simple, let the piece speak for itself, pairing a statement piece with a less busy counterpart is key.

Elevate your denim, bring a daytime look into night by just adding this playful piece. All shades of denim are welcome!

Choose a style and fit that complements your frame, too much fabric or too tight of a fit can make you look less than put together.

My favorite way to rock a bold top is to wear a basic like jeans and just add pieces of interest. Keeping the accessories simple but bold. With the outfit in the pictures, I chose one piece of bold jewelry, a belt, and a red shoe as my items of interest. I prefer to keep the bottoms simple when my statement top has a pattern if it’s solid you can most definitely do a patterned bottom. It’s up to you and how you like to make a look work for yourself!
